William Marchetti-Berry is a litigator in our Civil and Commercial Litigation Group. His practice focuses primarily on defending class actions, particularly those involving the liability of institutions and corporations as principals.
William handles complex matters involving shareholder oppression, injunctions, safeguard orders and disputes related to breaches of non-solicitation and non-competition clauses. He also has recognized expertise in commercial leasing, representing both landlords and tenants in disputes concerning the interpretation or termination of commercial leases.
Serving a diverse clientele ranging from small businesses to large corporations, William is frequently called upon in matters where legal, financial, or strategic stakes are especially high. He is known for his ability to anticipate risks, craft effective strategies, and deliver targeted solutions—whether in urgent proceedings or in the long-term management of litigation.
William has appeared on numerous occasions before the Court of Quebec, the Quebec Superior Court, and the Quebec Court of Appeal, leveraging his advocacy skills and legal acumen to defend his clients’ interests rigorously and effectively. An internship with a Quebec Superior Court judge in his final year of law school helped him build the confidence he brings to the courtroom today.
